What Is Executive Thought Leadership?

Executive thought leadership is content that communicates the knowledge, experience and perspective of a senior professional.

It can take the form of LinkedIn posts, articles, opinion pieces, reports, speeches, interviews or other content published under the executive's name.

The important part is not the format. It is whether there is an actual idea behind the content.

Simply publishing generic business advice under a CEO's name does not automatically make something thought leadership.

Strong thought leadership normally gives the reader access to something the executive is well placed to know: experience, a considered opinion, an observation about their industry or a useful way of looking at a problem.

A writer can help develop and articulate those ideas, but the substance should remain connected to the executive.
