Ghostwriting and thought leadership are related, but they describe different things.
Ghostwriting describes the writing process. Someone else helps write the content on your behalf.
Thought leadership describes the substance and purpose of the content. It communicates expertise, experience or a meaningful point of view.
A LinkedIn post can be ghostwritten without being thought leadership. Equally, somebody can write their own thought leadership without using a ghostwriter.
The two overlap when a writer helps an executive develop and communicate genuine ideas under that executive's name.
At Greyline, the distinction matters because simply producing more content is not necessarily the same as developing thought leadership.
If the objective is thought leadership, the process needs to uncover something worth saying before worrying about how to word the post.
