Is Ghostwriting Ethical?

Ghostwriting itself is not inherently unethical. The important question is what the writer is being asked to do.

There is a meaningful difference between helping someone express their genuine ideas and manufacturing expertise or opinions they do not hold.

An executive may have years of experience and plenty to say but very little time to turn those thoughts into polished articles or LinkedIn posts. Working with a writer to organise and articulate those ideas does not make the underlying experience disappear.

Problems arise when ghostwriting is used to create a false impression of knowledge, experience or personal involvement.

Greyline's approach is straightforward: the ideas and expertise should come from the person whose name appears on the work. The writer's job is to help bring them to the page.

That keeps the person's actual voice and thinking at the centre of the process.
